I’m creating a monster. It’s not easy, but as I reach my goals I’m gonna make it at least look easy. If you don’t know what it is to train for a big goal i’m sorry but the words just don’t exist for me to convey to you. Words like ‘pain’ ‘work’ ‘struggle’ ‘give’ ‘focus’ ‘drive’...

i was amazed at how many bicycles i saw on out under the sun today in my little southeast redneck mountain town. I had a moment of observation, durring which, i was truly bewildered. Is the bicycle, as a practical local means of transportation, becoming socially legitimized?!?! Even here?!?!

Whats brown, weighs 0.4lb, and heading my way? Give up? A box traveling across the country to its final destination with my new track frame inside.

Good Things to Come
I just got a conformation e-mail letting me know a track racing frame is being sent to me in the mail. This is a final departure for me… away from the trick scene. I cant keep up with the learning curve or risk factor involved with heavy hitting freestyle antics. There was a while where i had my Bridgestone converted into a pretty aggressive fixie and i fell in love with spinning on it. Im...

thanx for the concerns everybody.
Really, im okay. I walked away from it all (albeit wit a limp, lol) so id say its all good. First time in all these years of riding to be hit, and i was riding so mellow yesterday too. Helmet saved my life again. Ill need to replace it now, but it did its job and im grateful for that. I’m gonna sit this one out today and heal a bit, cuddle an ice pack or two, and give thanks to my ongoing...

Hit By Car
Got hit by a car today. I was in the right-of-way and the elderly handicapt lady that hit me probably shouldnt be behind the wheel of any vehicle. Im sooo sore, but Im okay. Im going spend some time with my ice-pack. Ill post the damages and the new build i was riding later.

WatchWatch
This isn’t an edit. My buddy got a flat the other day and this is some footage from his camera-phone from inside the sag-wagon. I figure this clip could help me share with you the types of roads ive been riding. East Tennessee has some great roads.
May 24th
I did over 1350 ft of climb in 20mi yesterday. It was good. Ive been getting heavy hitting short rides in lately. If weather, my work schedule, my sleep schedule, and over-all bike/body health would syncopate i’d be probably be doing more rides twice as long, but its been good that even on these short ones im hitting the climbs. Alternating between rollers and climbs has been doing me some...

I dont usually post fixed freestyle videos, but i really feel like Michael Chacon demonstrates a blend of this ever evolving sport that consists of tricks that got it started and big bangers of where its going. Im loving the multiple barspins, keos in lines, big air-spins, and clever gaps.

Commuter's Corner ~ "Packin' "
*Pack Light : Pack Smart - dont carry ANYTHING that you dont need. You also dont want to forget something that you will need. Plan it out, and then stick to the plan until it forms into daily habits. I have A LOT of injuries from the past that I still feel, pretty much all the time. I am always keeping that in mind when loading and adjusting my bag. If you have neck, back, or shoulder...

Tools For Routes & Weather
*Google Earth your possible route options. This can save you a lot of heartache. It’s not fun to waste your energy away on your way to work for a double shift in morning rain.      -when you have the time, its still good to explore possible route options. alleyways, certain bike paths, and some other infrastructure can be that “shortcut” you’ve been dreaming of and might not be so visible on...

The Commute
I’ve been commuting for quite a while now. I’ve been riding around from place to place since being an early teenager, but its different when you are riding to an engagement as an adult. There is a stage where practicality becomes an emphasis. Next stage is refinement. You must also keep in mind the seasons we have ahead of us. Im going to start posting little tips i’ve learned about commuting in...

the essence of using the term “Destroy” started with humor that, over time, we have learned to be self evident in other ways.
